Just call me Kristen Anderson...RN!!!

Okay....here's the story in a nutshell. I took my nursing state boards (the NCLEX) on Wednesday, May 30 after a very long month of hardcore studying and reviewing everything possible to review about nursing! I felt so calm on the way into the test. I mean, I had the healthy jitters, but I wasn't overwhelmingly nervous. I felt so supported with everyone's prayers that I knew I would be okay and just take my time and think through everything!

An hour and half later, I walked out of the building wanting to throw up. During the test, you can have anywhere from 75 to 265 questions; it just shuts off when it decides if you are competent or not--but you can pass or fail with any range of questions. My computer shut off at 75 questions, and I wanted to be like..."wait wait wait...i need to show you i know more!!" I knew I had done the best that I could do, but I was so angry that my future hinged on the most random 75 questions they could have asked me! I thought it had gone just awful and I was so upset. So I went home, sulked in a large chocolate milkshake, watched a sad movie, and cried a little! hahah....that's medicine for a girl, i'll tell ya!

I knew I could find out 48 hours later, so I woke up this morning and ran to the computer. I thought I would check out Arizona's state board of nursing website because it has said "testing pending" beside my name for the past few weeks. I typed in my name, and it came up with a license number beside it. I looked more, and it said...."status active" :-) I can't explain how much relief came over me! I just want to thank all of you for your prayers and support because it has definitely helped me through this time! I am so relieved to know that my "blood, sweat, and tears" these past 4 years have not been in vain!! I know that God has called me to this profession, so I knew he would not leave my side after these 4 years of studying, but it was so stressful having to go through all of this! Be encouraged to know that "He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus" (Philippians 1:6).
